Thank you for helping in response to the earthquake and tsunami activity which has devastated thousands of communities throughout India, Indonesia, Thailand and other Asian countries.

The Aidmatrix Asian Tsunami Virtual Drive gives you, as a donor, the ability to make a monetary donation towards the relief efforts being conducted by multiple aid organizations currently working onsite in Asia. Through this site, you will be able to select not only the area of aid you wish to contribute to, but also the organization you would like to choose to receive your donation.

Additionally, this Virtual Drive gives you the opportunity to choose the phase of the disaster relief you would like to help. Our drive allows you not only to donate to the immediate emergency relief, but also to the more long term "empowering" relief. Empowering aid addresses the rehabilitation efforts that are expected to last for several months after the initial disaster strikes and truly allows the affected communities to rebuild and become self-supporting again. The money is used for programs like restoring roads, schools and hospitals, micro lending programs to support the reopening of small businesses, and counseling services to help victims rebuild their lives and restore their communities.

Since 1948, Direct Relief International has worked to improve the quality of life for people in need. They focus on health - by providing essential material resources to locally run health programs in poor areas around the world and during times of disaster.

Direct Relief is coordinating with program partners in the affected countries and with U.S. government officials to develop a list of health and medical items that are needed.

MAP International was founded 50 years ago and they are dedicated to providing health and hope for people living in the world's poorest communities. There three-fold mission is to provide essential medicines, prevent and eradicate disease, and promote community health development.  MAP's international programs are eliminating the causes of sickness and disease by providing free medicines and medical care, improving water supplies and food production and establishing community directed health education and training.

MAP International staff have begun preparing a shipment of medicines and medical supplies for the communities devastated by the tsunami on Sunday.
